Last evening, President Trump signed into law two “minibus” spending bills that will keep the government open and include a wide array of tax and policy changes. Of particular interest to ECFC members are:
The repeal of the excise tax on high cost health plans referred to as the Cadillac Tax. The repeal of this tax has been one of ECFC's highest priorities.
The elimination of the UBIT tax on tax-exempt entities that offer qualified transportation fringe benefits to their employees.
Thanks to all the members who participated in the lobbying efforts to repeal the Cadillac Tax and especially to our Washington advocacy firm, Mehlman, Castigetti, Rosen and Thomas, who have helped guide us through the thickets of Washington, DC politics to get this impressive result.
