Renew Your Certifications

stay current, renew your certification every three years

To maintain a certification, one must recertify every three years (36 months). Each certification carries its own CE unit requirement and certification renewal fee. The Certificant must have acquired their CE units between the time s/he passed the certification exam and the date when applying for certification renewal.

An individual may renew his/her certification by:

  • Providing documentation of the required number of CE units since the last date of certification/recertification
  • Complete the Certification Renewal Form
  • Pay all appropriate certification renewal fees

If the applicant meets the requirements, s/he will be awarded a new certificate showing the Original Date of Certification and the new “Certified Until” date, and may use the certification designation after her/his name (until the expiration date of said designation).

The FCI allows a six-month grace period for someone to renew his/her certification following the lapse of her/his certification. Following that six-month lapse, s/he will need to re-take the exam in order to regain certification.
